Growing up I always had a family dog. A dog that was truly part of the family. The first time I had a really close connection with a pet was with my boxer, Max. My family and I immigrated to PEI, Canada from Northern Ireland when I was a teenager and Max came with us. During this difficult transition, Max was there for me to talk to. A few years later I moved away from home to attend university and wasn’t able to visit my family often. I found it extremely difficult to be away from my family but also away from my best buddy Max.
One Christmas I collected Max’s hair and took it back to university with me. I missed him so much and wanted to feel like he was close by, so I experimented with making a necklace with his hair and to my surprise I created something beautiful! This piece of jewelry was created with my dog’s hair and it meant the world to me.
Later that year, Max passed away and I never had the chance to say goodbye but I wear my necklace all of the time. It really makes me feel like I am still connected with him. After his death is when I realized that I need to help others who are dealing with loss to feel a sense of connection. I started exploring jewelry making and gained a love for the whole process. I am so grateful for the opportunity to share each pet’s story though my jewelry and it is a very special process to work though with clients. I am truly honoured to be part of keep each pet’s memory alive.
“Absolutely beautiful! It looks even better in reality, like glass. Rebecca is very organised, professional and kind. Exactly the kind of person you would want to entrust with something so precious. I couldn’t be happier!”
Pets are part of the family and losing a pet or a loved one is heart wrenching. The memorial jewelry I created start to finish – perfect for you – to make sure you have exactly the piece you want to remember your pet or loved one. These pieces are designed to keep them close even after they are gone. My goal is to help heal hearts with one piece of jewelry at a time. You will receive a weekly photographic update throughout the process so you can be part of the overall crafting experience. I do my absolute best to ensure you have the perfect piece, and that you have a connection with the jewelry before you have it in your hands. During the creation process, each pet and loved one is dealt with the greatest respect and care, and each piece is finished to the highest quality.
I believe in continuing to celebrate life after death. For this I create memorial jewelry with strong visuals of the remains: beautiful and unique to each life and personality.
Craft Love Craft Life was developed by myself, Rebecca, close to the end of my Fine Arts degree when I realized I needed to have my own own craft business. I have a true passion and love for art and animals. Combining these two loves formed a dream career. The name Craft Love Craft Life comes from the idea of creating with love to continue and celebrate life. With my products you are guaranteed to have my whole heart put into the piece to make sure it is perfect for you.
